Jake Simmonds is a student at Liberty University, where he is earning a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. His background includes a decade teaching in secondary and tertiary education and launching a private coaching practice in 2022.Â
Jake firmly believes that inclusive and individualized care are at the heart of effective counseling, and is dedicated to providing a warm, nonjudgmental experience for all. He also sees great value at the intersection of science and creativity and implements sound evidence-based methods as well as creative practices to help assist clients on their journey. Jake employs a blend of mindfulness strategies, narrative therapeutic constructs, and reflective journaling and storytelling to help clients heal and flourish. Jake finds incredible fulfillment from human connection and enjoys working with clients from all backgrounds and ages, but has the most experience with adolescents and emerging adults.
He personally enjoys writing music, dabbling in philosophy, crafting handmade fragrances, and spending lots of quality time with family and friends.
