Therapist

I’m able to see my clients from the lens of a therapist, but more importantly from the lens of another human. I’m a mom, a friend, a sister, a daughter, and a wife. My life experiences have impacted and led my work as a clinician. I love to thrift, be in the sun, bake, and snuggle with my not-so-mini bernadoodle who terrorizes anybody bigger than him, but is terrorized by my toddler.

I’ve wanted to be a therapist for as long as I can remember. It’s always been easy for me to connect with people and that has been one of my greatest strengths, and has also brought me the most happiness in my career. The question “what happened to you?” as opposed to “what’s wrong with you?” resonates with me, and influences my practice. I’ve loved utilizing EMDR in helping my clients heal from what happened to them. Many people believe there’s a difference between “big T” and “little t” trauma, but isn’t all trauma trauma? Our brains don’t care about whether the “t” is capitalized or not, it just knows that we had an adverse experience and it has adapted to keep us safe. But is what once was adaptive now maladaptive? Thankfully, I believe that nobody is broken, and all people can heal. I believe that you have the answers and know the skills, and it’s my job to help you find that part of you in a collaborative process.
